　　莱曼·弗兰克·鲍姆（LymanFrankBaum，1856年5月15日－1919年5月6日），美国作家、演员、报纸编辑，也曾是独立电影的电影监制。他生于纽约州，父亲是个桶匠，后来到宾夕法尼亚州开采石油并发了财。鲍姆的童年是在父亲的大庄园里度过的，他从小体弱多病，受到家人的特别关照。他对童话和幻想故事的迷恋几乎到了“白日梦”的程度，父母很担心这会影响他的性格发展，决心送他去军校。军校的严谨生活并没有改善他的性格，只导致他精神崩溃。父母只好把他从军校接回家，任由他发展自己的兴趣。
　　《绿野仙踪》（TheWonderfulWizardofOz，1900年，又译为《神秘欧兹国》、《奥兹国之伟大巫师》）是他有名的美国儿童文学著作。此书后被改编为电影《绿野仙踪》（1939年）。在《绿野仙踪》大受欢迎之后，陆续创作奥兹国相关系列作品14本。
