《Proceedingsof2007InternationalSymposiumonCoalGasControlTechnology》:HuainanMiningGroupCo.Ltd.locatesintheinteriorofeconomicallydevelopedregionsinnorthcentralAnhuiprovince,eastChina.Ithasadvantageouslocationandconvenienttransportation.Huainancoatmineareaisabout100kmlong,30kmwide,andabout3000km2,itscoalreservesis50.1billiontons,andreserveofgasis592.8billionm3.Itisthetypicalcoalmineareainourcountrywhosegascontentishigh,permeabilityforgasislow,coalseamissoftandgeologicalconditionsarecomplex,thusthegasaccidentswerecommon.Before1998,thegasdrainagevolumewasonly5200000m3peryearduetothelowefficiencyofgasdrainage.Inordertochangethisbadsituation,HuainanMiningGroupunitedwithChinaUniversityofMining&TechnologyandChinaCoalResearchInstitutetotacklethekeyproblemofgascontrolfrom1998,andsetupanintegratedtechnicalsystemtocontrolgas.Thegasdrainagevolumeof2006was173millionm3;theoutputofrawcoalwas33830000t,andthedeathratepermilliontonsofcoalreducedto0.18.Sofar,thereare38000domesticgasusersinHuainanMiningGroup.Thetotalreserveofgasis200000m3,andthegaspowerinstallationcapacityis32000kW.Thegascontrolconceptionsof"miningtheprotectivelayerwhenpossible,tryingtodraingaswhenoughtto,drainingbeforemining"and"expandingmoneyinput,appreciatingtheutilizationandpromotingdrainingbyusing"werequotedby50tipsoncoalminegascontrol.Recently,HuainanMiningGroupassociatesmanyresearchinstitutesandenterprisesfromGermany,AustraliaandJapantopromotetheinternationalexchangeandcooperationactively,andconducttheresearchanddevelopmentworkintheaspectofgascontrolandutilization.
