In his explanation of China\'s development strategy and the gen-eral content of socialism with Chinese characteristics， Xi Jinping，general secretary of the Communist Party of China （CPC） ， attached great importance to culture and outlined the content of the five-sphere integrated plan of Chinese socialism - plan for economic，political， cultural， social and eco-environmental progress.On the basis of confidence in the socialist path， theory and system， he em-phasizes cultural confidence in particular.He believes that culturalconfidence represents a fundamental and profound force that sustains the development of our country and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.As he stated in May 2016 at the Seminar on Philosophy and Social Sciences，\" Our confidence in our path， in our theories and in our system all boil down to our confidence in our culture-the es-sential， underlying and enduring strength of a nation.\" And again in July of that year， at the ceremony marking the 95th anniversary of the founding of the CPC， he said， \"Let us stay true to our original aspiration and continue marching forward.We should be confident in the path， theory， system and culture of socialism with Chinese char-acteristics.We should not waver in adhering to the basic line of our Party and continue to advance the great cause of Chinese social-ism.\"
The cultural self-confidence of contemporary China refers to having confidence in socialist culture with Chinese characteristics.When Xi Jinping talks about it，there is an attributive \" socialism with Chinese characteristics\" that cannot be omitted or ignored.Even if the attributive is not always added， the topic is still dis-cussed within the framework of Chinese socialism.For example， in the report to the 19th CPC National Congress， Xi repeatedly talked about the issue of cultural confidence， and linked it to the new era of Chinese socialism， to becoming a modern， powerful socialist country， and to the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.That is
to say， the cultural confidence of contemporary China is not general cultural self-confidence， but confidence in socialist culture with Chinese characteristics， which has specific systematic implications and incorporates specific features of our times.It is precisely these implications and features that reveal the living conditions， life expe-rience， values， and ideals of today\'s Chinese， and that stipulate special nature and specific meaning of contemporary Chinese cul-ture.
Enhancing confidence in socialist culture with Chinese charac-teristics is a practical requirement for the development of Chinese socialism in the new era.After the founding of the People\'s Republic of China in 1949， and particularly since the launch of the reform and opening-up policy in 1978， the CPC has led the people to worktirelessly in building a modern， socialist country， in realizing na-tional rejuvenation， and in blazing new trails around the theme of Chinese socialism.It was the Chinese Communists represented by Mao Zedong who created the socialist institutional framework in Chi-na and who began to explore a socialist development path that was suited to China\'s national conditions and that possessed Chinese characteristics.In doing so we achieved significant successes， accu-mulated experience and lessons， and laid the foundation for Chinese socialism.It was also the Chinese Communists represented by Deng Xiaoping who subsequently guided the people away from the old path of a rigid closed-door policy and an erroneous path by abando-ning socialism， and who achieved the second great integration of Marxism with China\'s realities.In doing this we opened up the path of Chinese socialism and erribarked on the journey of promoting socialist modemization in the process of reform and opening up.It was the Chinese Communists represented by Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao who continued to compose new chapters in developing Chinese socialism. 石磊,全国12家辅导机构考研思想政治理论首席主讲，全国鲜有的思想政治所有课程全讲奇才，高等教育出版社大纲知识点解析总主编，北航出版社考研政治系列图书主编之一，被广大考生称为“疯狂的石头”、“应试天才”。
